Frequently Asked Questions
Why use Outlook?
Because most users are already familiar with Outlook and probably use
it for all their communications and calendar: so you don't have to learn
a new interface, and you don't ever have to synchronise data as you do
in most other competing products.
Why can't I just use Outlook?
You can, but you don't have the ability to group Contacts under a master
organization record, and ContacTree's Axelerator saves you up to 90% of
the time it takes you to create the same contact records in Outlook, even
if you have Outlook 2003 Business Contact Manager (BCM).
Why charting?
Because it helps you to organize your Contacts and their companies, and
it gives you an instantaneous visual display of Company and Program relationships.
You can then export this to OrgPlus to create finely polished and professional
presentations. It also helps you with customer Organization structure,
the structure of their Markets as well as complex situations such as Trade
Associations, multi-national Programs etc.
Who might use ContacTree?
It has particular application in a sales and marketing environment, but
is equally useful to anyone who has dealings with a wide network of people
who are organised in groups, such as trade associations, banks, retail
and distribution enterprises and the like.
The system works equally well for networks of organizations or activities.
You can even use it to chart your own Organization, or for proposals and
presentations.
The mechanism of presenting branched options for process selection can
even be applied to the navigation of websites, as it is here.
Who else uses charting for Contact Management?
Some other CRM packages, like Goldmine, use the linear TreeViewer layout
that has been popular for many years(as we do in our MOBILE version),
but only ContacTree provides you with all of the power of the OrgPlus
utilities.
Is ContacTree a CRM package?
No, not strictly speaking. ContacTree helps you at the stage even before
you have a Customer to manage! We help you to identify who are the Contacts
that are key to making that critical sale. You can then simply transfer
what information you want to your CRM package, if you decide that you
really need one.
Can I use ContacTree 'stand-alone'?
Absolutely! It's designed with the 'Road-Warrior' in mind.
What if I want to hook up to my Server?
No problem, contact us and we can quote you for a server-based Enterprise-wide
system.
